Graduate of
Nova Southeastern University
with a Bachelors Degree in
Specific Learning Disabilities
and a Masters Degree in Varying
Exceptionalities. Patricia’s
experience ranges from
pre-school autism to middle
school reading in a VE setting.
She has worked with hundreds of
children with a variety of
disabilities; emotionally
handicapped, mentally
handicapped, Downs Syndrome,
learning disabled and Autism.
Patricia has had a wide range of
responsibilities throughout her
career including ESE grade
chair, support facilitator for
special needs children in a
general education setting, as
well as a specialized VE
teacher. In the fall of 2003,
Patricia decided to focus her
attention on elementary school
children by taking a position as
an Autism Coach at a cluster in
a Broward County school where
she facilitated training for
teachers in a variety of
subjects and techniques
including work systems, behavioral interventions, IEP
assistance and student
facilitation. Presently,
Patricia is back in the
classroom teaching the students
she loves and has taken on a new
project - "Picture Me Learning",
where she will offer specialized
tutoring for children with
special needs.

with a Bachelors of
Science in specific learning
disabilities and a minor in
Varying Exceptionalities
Kat also has a
Graduate's Degree from Florida
Atlantic University in Special
Education and Behavior Analysis.
Ms. Powers has her ESOL certification and she is a member of FAU’s Phi Kappa Phi
Honor Society and the Golden Key National Honors Society. Kat has also earned membership in the National Scholars Honors Society. She began her educational career as a varying exceptionalities teacher in a middle school and then moved to an elementary school. She currently works in the Autism cluster at a Broward County elementary school and she absolutely loves it!
She has been a mentor to other teachers, an ESE grade chair, and has provided behavioral support to various students at her school. Her experiences include teaching children with Autism, Learning Disabilities and the mentally handicapped. She is excited to start “Picture Me Learning” with Pat, and looks forward to meeting the needs of all the children that walk through their doors. |
